Gunpowder River Fall Trout Update: Flow Rates, 57° Water Temps & What’s Biting
Fall has officially arrived in northern Baltimore County, and local fly anglers have reason to celebrate. Prettyboy Dam release flows have been increased to fill Loch Raven Reservoir, pushing current flows up to around 158 cfs and cooling the tailwater to a crisp 57°F.
These cooler, moving waters create ideal conditions for wild brown and rainbow trout heading into late September.

* Water Temperature: 57°F (prime feeding temperature for active trout).
