Getting Ready for Winter: Wisp Resort News, Upgrades & Announcements ❄️

Who else is getting excited for skiing and snowboarding season?!? It’s crazy to think about, but winter is officially right around the corner! I just saw the latest update from Wisp Resort, and they're putting in some serious work behind the scenes to get the mountain ready for the 26-27 season.

If you’re planning your winter trips or looking to hit the slopes soon, here’s the rundown of what’s up:

  * Serious Snowmaking Boost: The team at Wisp is transforming the "Little Dipper" terrain by adding 12 new permanent snow guns. They’re also upgrading the pump capacity and water supply lines, which means they can redeploy existing portable guns to other parts of the mountain for better flexibility across the whole resort.

  * Lift Infrastructure: They’re keeping up with routine maintenance on Chair 4 (which connects East Ridge to North Camp) by replacing Towers 3 and 6 to keep everything running smoothly.

  * Base Area & Amenities: Expect a better experience off the slopes, too. They’re adding a new event stage, updating the heating and cooling in the McHenry Lodge and Hearth & Hops Tavern, and rotating the rental equipment fleet.

  * Leadership Transition: There's some big news on the management front: GM Ron Hawkes is planning to retire following this upcoming winter season. Erik Barnes has been named the GM Designate to lead the transition.

You can check out the full details on all of the lift and infrastructure upgrades, here.
