Celebrate 25 Years of Healing in Baltimore: Join the Holistic Life Foundation’s Anniversary Weekend! (Oct 2 & Oct 3)
The Holistic Life Foundation (HLF) holds a really special place in my heart, because I grew up with the guys that started the organization. It is so inspiring to see the huge impact that the HLF has made, over the past 25 years - around Baltimore and now even across the US! I am so very proud of Atman, Ali and Andy and all that they have accomplished.
To honor 25 years of mindfulness, healing, and community impact, the HLF is hosting an unforgettable celebration in Baltimore, next month (Fri, Oct. 2nd & Sat, Oct 3rd) – and everyone is invited to join the milestone! I've already bought my ticket and want to make sure to spread the word about this organization and their upcoming event.
Whether you've been part of their journey from the beginning, like I have - or are just now discovering their mission - here's what you can look forward to at this special celebration weekend:
* NP 2100 Documentary Exclusive Screening (Fri, Oct 2nd at 7:00 PM): Be among the first to catch the premiere of the new documentary, followed by a live conversation with the filmmakers and the HLF team. You can choose General Admission or the VIP Experience, which includes reserved seating, early entry, and an exclusive meet-and-greet.
* Power of Presence Gala (Sat, Oct 3rd at 6:00 PM): This immersive gala is the heart of the celebration. It is an opportunity to pause, connect, and reflect on the foundation’s journey through inspiring stories, local art, live music, and handcrafted cocktails.
* Community & Connection: This weekend is all about honoring the people, partners, and supporters who have shaped HLF’s work over the last 25 years. It’s also a perfect chance to reconnect and look ahead to the future!
This is a milestone worth celebrating, and the team would be honored to have you there!

About the Holistic Life Foundation
For over two decades, the Holistic Life Foundation has been leading a quiet revolution, right here in Baltimore - proving that mindfulness, movement, and genuine human connection can transform communities from the inside out.
Founded in 2001 by Ali Smith, Atman Smith, and Andres Gonzalez, this homegrown, BIPOC-led nonprofit is dedicated to nurturing the emotional, social, and educational well-being of underserved youth and families through yoga, mindfulness, and restorative practices.
The Impact & Reach
* Generations of Change: Over 200,000 students and adults served nationwide across more than 100 schools and community spaces, backed by 50,000+ hours of evidence-based training.
* Daily Support for Baltimore Kids: Every single week, HLF works directly with more than 5,000 Baltimore City Public School students, equipping them with self-regulation tools, breathwork, and conflict resolution skills to manage stress and thrive in the classroom.
* Proven Lifelong Outcomes: In their original youth mentoring cohort, 90% graduated from high school, and 100% went on to higher education or full-time employment.
* Meeting People Where They Are: Beyond public school classrooms, HLF brings trauma-informed wellness into recreation centers, senior centers, colleges, detention facilities, and mental health centers.
* Global Footprint: Through partnerships like the Clinton Global Initiative, the HLF's signature Mindful Moment program has expanded across the country—including Chicago, Denver, Milwaukee, Buffalo, and the Akwesasne Mohawk territories—alongside virtual sessions reaching students in Malawi.
* National Recognition: The HLF's groundbreaking work has been spotlighted by NBC Nightly News, Good Morning America, CNN, CBS, The Washington Post, and Steven Spielberg’s documentary series Why We Hate - and they were named Baltimore Magazine Game Changers in 2024.
Whether teaching a room of elementary students how to pause and breathe or training the next generation of mindful community leaders, the Holistic Life Foundation continues to build a healthier, more compassionate world—one mindful moment at a time.
