DISNEY MOVIES EXPECTED ON NETFLIX THIS FALL...

It’s been a long time in the works, but it looks like Netflix's contract with Disney is finally coming to fruition. If all goes as expected, the first set of movies will debut on Netflix, this fall, and the relationship will continue for the next three years. While the deal was struck all the way back in 2014 - and covers Disney, Lucasfilm and Marvel movies - it does not include movies released before Jan 1, 2016. While Netflix is still waiting on an official list of movies (and likely won't even know of an upcoming month's movies until right up until the release date, themselves), they are confident enough to make 'reasonably good' predictions. They explained that the deal works so that "once the film is released in theatres, we’ll then have to wait until the DVD and Blu-ray release. After that, we’ll have to wait just a little bit longer until they’re available on Netflix. In the cases of The Finest Hour, where we suspect it’ll launch relatively soon after September 1st, that means you’ll have to wait around nine months after each movie releases in the cinema." If you can wait those nine months, then you should be able to expect these Disney movies on Netflix, this fall:

The Finest Hours
First released 1/29/16
(Expected Sept)
Zootopia
First released 3/4/16
(Expected Sept/Oct)
Captain America: Civil War
First released 4/12/16
(Expected Oct/Nov)
The Jungle Book
First released 4/15/16
(Expected Nov/Dec)

THIRD PARTY TITLES COMING TO NETFLIX:

The following titles include all the biggest TV shows which aren’t produced by Netflix, but instead produced by third-party providers (including CBS, The CW, FX, AMC and more), who then give Netflix the rights to stream on their platform. While these dates are not officially confirmed, Netflix has released them as reliable predictions.

  • Agents of Shield – Season 3 (Sept)
  • American Horror Story: Hotel (Sept)
  • Gotham – Season 2 (Sept)
  • Hawaii Five-O – Season 6 (Sept)
  • Madam Secretary – Season 2 (Sept)
  • The Walking Dead – Season 6 (Sept)
  • Arrow – Season 4 (Oct)
  • iZombie – Season 2 (Oct)
  • Reign – Season 3 (Oct)
  • Supernatural – Season 11 (Oct)
  • The 100 – Season 3 (Oct)
