Maryland Science Center Holiday E-News: Upcoming events, Holiday Home Experiments & more!


Make it to Midnight Noon
How do you celebrate 2014 twice without having to switch time zones? By attending the annual noontime new year celebration—Midnight Noon—on New Year's Eve. Along with lots of crafts and activities, Grammy-nominated band Milkshake will play on the main stage. Doors open at 10am. MORE

Holiday Stargazing
Friday nights are a great time to do some stargazing in our rooftop Observatory. The night sky is closer than ever through the lens of our computer controlled telescope and staff are on hand to point out planets and constellations. Best of all—it's completely free. MORE

Last Chance for Mummies of the World
The popular Mummies of the World exhibit is now in its FINAL WEEKS on exhibition at the Science Center. Tens of thousands of people have already seen the largest collection of mummies and mummy-related artifacts ever assembled—will you be one of the thousands? Mummies of the World is open every day during the holiday break but it won't be here much longer. Don't miss this chance of a lifetime—once the exhibit ends here in Baltimore this collection of mummies will never be on display again anywhere.  MORE

The holiday break means lots of time with family and friends. To help occupy some of that time, MSC Staffers have assembled some DIY experiments you can do right at home. Each experiment features step-by-step instructions and use everyday household items.  MORE
