Last week, Irvine Environmental Educator Valerie Barbare used a live barred owl as a tool to make the food chain come alive for kids at the Green School of Baltimore. The students stood inches away from the owl and learned firsthand how owls find their prey. Next, second graders dissected owl pellets, and you can bet they’ll always remember what owls eat! This hands-on science education is Irvine's trademark.
Irvine has a donor who believes that this kind of education works and will match your gift 1:1.So your gift of $25 will mean $50 to us, which is enough to buy materials for a handful of students to be scientists firsthand!
You have until December 31, 2013 to help make science come alive for Baltimore students.
